The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a 5 year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control. The project provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, and treatment programming. In Tanzania, EpiC will be implementing an HIV service delivery project among key and priority populations, adolescent girls and young women; and orphans and vulnerable children which aims to reduce HIV infections in pursuit of reaching 95-95-95 goals.  To achieve this goal, the program will support targeted prevention and case finding strategies at community level amongst the targeted populations.

Job Description

Office Assistant will perform a wide variety of general office/administrative support functions with relatively close supervision to ensure office processes run smoothly.

Specific duties include:

  • General office duties as required (e.g. maintenance, cleanliness, ensuring office has no water leaks, helps with dusting to ensure there is no dust around the office);
  • Runn errands and performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Ensure that office equipment such as printers, copy machines, fax machine remain operational (clearing jams, adding toner.) Checking equipment daily &reporting any issues.
  • Support document preparation e.g. photocopying, scanning, duplicating and binding. · Performing internal messenger services as requested/required
  • Assist in sorting and routing incoming materials/mails.
  • Assist with logistical arrangements for meetings in the office including room and equipment set up/refreshments.
  • Prepare and serving coffee and tea for visitors.
  • Cover reception upon occasion and answer questions/forward messages accordingly. · Closing all office windows and all doors and ensure lights are turned off at the end of day.
  • Maintain stock of tea, coffee, sugar and milk.
  • Monitor level of supplies in the office and notify/report when are running low
  • Monitor levels of drinking water and notifies accordingly
  • Collect and procuring supplies as requested
  • Report any maintenance issues such as leaking taps or wash basins/sinks etc.
  • Report any theft, breakage or missing items to Supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Basic Secondary Education plus one-year (1 yr.) experience
  • Basic English comprehension both verbal and understanding
  • Ability to read and write at a level consistent with the requirements of the position.
  • Numeracy skills adequate to support the duties and responsibilities of the position. · Proficiency in the full range of general office services and equipment
  • Familiarity with basic office management practices and procedures
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule.

Position: Branch Fleet Manager

Location: Dar es salaam
Reporting to; Country Manager
The role of a Branch Fleet manager will be responsible for planning, communication, policy development, ensuring statutory compliance and administration of all fleet management processes. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring fleet safety compliance, fleet budgets and controlled costs with most effective fleet allocations.

Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for a fleet of 25 plus Tuk tuks and motorcycles
  • Evaluates vehicle inspection reports, repair quotes and repair invoices.
  • Coordinates with all vehicle mechanics to ensure they are on time and being diligent.
  • Serves as primary contact for all field level staff assistance (i.e. vehicle breakdowns, field assistance, mechanical issues, loading issues, etc).
  • Serves as primary contact for all fleet relevant suppliers.
  • Ensure all Sokowatch vehicles road requirements are up to date (i.e. insurance, inspections, Road traffic, TARURA, and TANROARD).
  • Ensuring all Sokowatch drivers have valid and current documents (i.e. licenses and additional requirements).
  • Development and implementation of fleet administration standards and vehicle operating policies
  • Preparation of annual budgets and periodic reports on operating costs, purchase and control over maintenance.
  • In charge of team workload and performance of his branch fleet managers.
  • To oversee fleet replacement program including recommending annual fleet replacement; develop specifications for purchasing equipment and vehicles.
  • To ensure the work environment is in compliance with government, safety and environmental standards; assure the workshop areas, equipment and materials are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly manner

Qualifications;

  • Previous fleet management experience
  • Previous fleet management process design and implementation experience
  • Vehicle maintenance experience
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
  • Supplier communication and relationship management experience is a plus
  • Ability to adapt in fast-paced environments with various teams
  • Mechanics certifications are a strong asset

1. Qualifications, Knowledge and Essential Attributes:

  • Holder of Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Statistics or Project Planning from recognized institution.
  • Knowledge on computer science, project management, monitoring & evaluation, data collection, analysis, and processing is an added advantage.

2. Main duties and responsibilities:

  • The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation, research, and learning framework of the Centre. He/she will develop a systematic monitoring framework to improve the qualitative and quantitative evidence gathered by the Project.


Specific duties: Setting up the system:

  • Assist in the revision of the project log frame matrix, particularly in the areas of performance indicators and their measurement.
  • Assist in the development and/or finalization of the centre Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and timeframes as relevant.
  • Develop the overall framework for project like impact assessment, final evaluation, develop project Performance Monitoring Plan with relevant data collection systems.
  • With collaborating partners, review their existing approaches and management information systems and agree on any required changes, support, and resources.
  • Develop a plan for project-related capacity-building on M&E and for any computer- based support that may be required.

Position Description: The COP will be the principal point of contact in Tanzania for procedural and substantive matters. Position Description: We are looking for qualified Tanzanian candidates with experience in marine conservation and marine protected area management, coastal zone management, fisheries management and sustainability, community-based coastal and marine resource management, and coral reef and reef-associated ecosystems management. These positions are anticipated to be based in Dar es Salaam and/or Zanzibar, United Republic of Tanzania.

  • University degree or higher in marine/coastal management, marine biology or other marine science, fisheries resource management, or another relevant field (Master’s preferred);
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience;

  •  Excellent organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment;
  • Professional written and spoken proficiency in- English required; Arabic and/or Swahili language skills preferred.

Position Description: The COP will be the principal point of contact in Tanzania for procedural and substantive matters. The COP will coordinate and ultimately be responsible for all contract management and implementation. S/he will be the primary liaison with USAID/Tanzania on technical matters and must adjust programs and operations in response to USAID/Tanzania technical direction. The COP will also be responsible for ensuring quality control and the overall responsiveness of technical assistance provided under the award.

The COP’s primary responsibilities will be aimed at providing overall leadership, management and general technical direction of the entire Activity, ensuring an integrated vision among different components and actors, and focusing on achieving the results defined in the award. This individual will be expected to identify issues and risks related to Activity implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate adjustments. This is anticipated to be a full-time position based in Tanzania.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in marine/coastal management, marine biology or other marine science, fisheries resource management, or another relevant field;
  • At least twelve (12) years of demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of donor-funded development activities, USG/USAID experience preferred;
  • At least seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in senior program management, including team leadership and direct supervision of professional and support staff;
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in multi-stakeholder dialogue, including sustaining partnerships and strong working relationships with donors, host country government counterparts, the private sector, academic institutions, and civil society;
  • Proven experience navigating complex and high-pressure operating environments;
  • Proficiency written and spoken English is required. Swahili fluency is strongly preferred. Arabic skills are preferred (Zanzibar).

Organizational setting and Reporting:

This position is located in the Language Support Services, Registry, Arusha Branch and reports to the Head of LSS.

Responsibilities: 

The incumbent of the post translates, subject to minimal revision, a variety of texts from French and English into Kinyarwanda and from Kinyarwanda into French, respecting deadlines and using appropriate terminology. S/he must further aim at a high standard of accuracy, consistency and faithfulness to the spirit, style and nuances of the original; observes established terminology and usage; ensures, as far as possible, consistency with other translations produced by the Service or other translators working on the same document. Uses all sources of reference, information and consultation relevant to the text at hand and carries out any research required. QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Advanced degree from a university or from an institution of equivalent status in translation. A first-level university degree in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.


Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of translation experience, preferably in the context of the United Nations or an international organisation. Some degree of specialization in subjects with which the Mechanism deals, i.e. legal. Familiarity with terminology databases and knowledge of relevant computer software is an asset. Experience in revision is an asset.

Language:

English and French are the working languages of the Mechanism. For the post advertised, the incumbent should have Kinyarwanda as a mother tongue, a perfect command of French and an excellent command of English.
