KEY DUTIES:

  • Prepare and mark weekly tests and quizzes to assess student abilities.
  •  Evaluate and record individual student progress, and give feedback and individual or small group tutoring to students who perform below average.
  •  Prepare a final report card to be sent home with the student.
  • Participate in a weekly progress meeting with Sega’s Academic unit to discuss: a) Summary of past week’s lessons, b) Plan for next week’s lessons, c) Issues and/or challenges.

  •  Managing SwM’s Information and Communications Technology and assets, so that ICT systems and teleconferencing facilities are secure, reliable, and work efficiently and that data protection legislation is adhered to; ensuring that software is properly supported, and staff trained in its use.
  • Overseeing paper and electronic filing systems and storage systems, ensuring these are used consistently across the organisation, that the data is accurate, well maintained, and easy to retrieve.
  • This includes all key correspondence, regular monitoring reports and compliance documents.
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that SwM staff are all conversant with internal policies and understand and comply with all relevant health and safety, fire prevention, and data protection;

Team Leader / Key Expert 1 profile:

  •  At least three of the target countries will be francophone, so French language skills are required. Additionally, they must have a master’s degree or equivalent academic degree in health economics or health finance.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in project implementation and management in the health sector, within development regions, preferably Sub-Saharan Africa. 5 years similar experience of working in a senior expert/management position on DFI/donor financed TA operation projects.·
  • Professional experience as a technical expert having implemented at least 3 projects, one of which must be in the health sector.

The AHDP intends to improve and extend healthcare in Sub-Saharan Africa by leveraging the knowledge and expertise of the private sector, to improve testing, accuracy and availability of diagnostic services.  Ministries of health and finance will directly benefit from the technical assistance and are key implementers of the AHDP.

The purpose of this TA operation is to support the preparation, implementation and subsequent monitoring of the AHDP projects in four new countries to the existing platform. Specific tasks will include feasibility studies, financial affordability analysis, budget and financing plans, tender documents and capacity building in project development, management and financing techniques.

Job Description

We are seeking a Team leader / Key Expert 1, for a new programme we will be bidding for; The Africa Health Diagnostics Platform (AHDP), with this specific Technical Assistance funded by The European Investment Bank (EIB). The aim of AHDP is to significantly improve the access and quality of laboratory diagnostic services in the public health sector (government-owned facilities and community health care) in sub-Saharan Africa for low income populations. This will be achieved by enabling public-private partnerships between governments and private sector laboratory and diagnostic companies.

Candidate Specification

Team Leader / Key Expert 1 profile:

At least three of the target countries will be francophone, so French language skills are required. Additionally, they must have a master’s degree or equivalent academic degree in health economics or health finance.

 

At least 15 years of relevant experience in project implementation and management in the health sector, within development regions, preferably Sub-Saharan Africa. 5 years similar experience of working in a senior expert/management position on DFI/donor financed TA operation projects.·

 

  • Professional experience as a technical expert having implemented at least 3 projects, one of which must be in the health sector.
  • Good understanding of health sector policies within Sub-Saharan African countries.
  • Public health expertise, preferably on diagnostics and systems strengthening, including public sector engagement.
  • Experience in design and implementation of assessments for health sector projects including in the delivery of diagnostics in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Experience establishing financial and partnership structures.
  • Experience in capacity building in the health sector, including the establishment of performance-based funding structures.

Job Profile

Public health efforts in a number of African countries are often compromised by limited access to quality diagnostic services and the poorest people lack the means to pay for the testing that is available. The AHDP intends to improve and extend healthcare in Sub-Saharan Africa by leveraging the knowledge and expertise of the private sector, to improve testing, accuracy and availability of diagnostic services.  Ministries of health and finance will directly benefit from the technical assistance and are key implementers of the AHDP.

 

The purpose of this TA operation is to support the preparation, implementation and subsequent monitoring of the AHDP projects in four new countries to the existing platform. Specific tasks will include feasibility studies, financial affordability analysis, budget and financing plans, tender documents and capacity building in project development, management and financing techniques.

Experience:

•Previous experience as Shotcrete Plant Operator.
•A minimum of 3 years exposure to mining
•Knowledge of underground mining practices. 

Purpose of the Role:
To ensure the shotcrete plant is fully functioning and ensure the mixing and availability of shotcrete materials are to specifications and quantities. 

Main or Key Accountabilities:

•Ensures proportioning and mixing of the shotcrete mixture materials and maintaining and cleaning the mixing equipment
•Stores, cares, and ensures accessibility of the materials
•Ensure the mixture is free of contaminated materials and debris and that the aggregates have the proper moisture content.
•Maintains a constant flow of shotcrete materials without mixing more material than can be used within the specified time limits.
•Supervises the workers who are supplying and loading the mixer.
•Ensure GGM safety standards, policies & procedures are adhered to at all times.
•Ensure the plant area is kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
•Conducts a pre-use inspection of the plant prior to safe operation. 

Additional Requirements:

•OEM plant operation training and certification
•Working at heights training
•Confined space training
•Hazardous chemical awareness training
•Conveyor belt hazard training

•Operate batching system to produce ready-mix concrete to correct specification and to OEM equipment operations procedure.
•Spot check concrete & make adjustments to recipes where necessary.
•Keep stocks up to date, order materials such as cement, aggregates & admixtures.
•Liaising with Supply Chain/dispatch to ensure products are delivered on time to the required quality.
•Ensure the batching plant area is kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
•Maintain the batching plant (grease bearings, replace conveyor belts etc).
•Carry out own testing duties of aggregates & concrete i.e. Moisture Contents, cube testing etc.
•Complete tests & audits to fulfill quality certificates & product compliance.
•Conducts a pre-use inspection of the plant prior to safe operation.
•Ensure GGM safety standards, policies & procedures are adhered to at all times.

•Must be familiar with mining and environmental regulations as well as material specifications.
 

Purpose of the Role:
To upload and drive Agi Truck to specified locations and unload the concrete ensuring safe work practices at all times and maintaining the truck and ancillary equipment.
 

Main or Key Accountabilities:
•Complete daily prestart checklist, greasing and basic maintenance of truck and ancillary equipment
•Drive trucks under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement and water and start mixer
•At location move leavers on the truck to release concrete down the chute as advised by Spotter.
•Ensure trucks and equipment are cleaned to prevent concrete hardening in the mixer and on the truck
•Ensure GGM safety standards, policies & procedures are adhered to at all times

•Able to speak and understand English language.
•Basic first aid knowledge.
•Be physically and mentally fit and hard working. Appointment subject to thorough medical check-up by authorized medical practitioner.
